AcneNoMore Program Day 8

Hey everybody and thank you to everyone who follows my daily updates and feel free to leave comments down below. So yesterday was day 8 and the very first day of the 3 day juice cleanse and my first time fasting ever! I really wanted to do the juicing because I believe that done correctly it can really benefit your health and hopefully my skin. The juicing is probably one of the most extreme parts of the program but I believe it is a crucial step. Basically, the point of juicing or any fasting for that matter is so that by only drinking liquids, your body can spend all of its extra time and when you sleep, fighting against viruses and healing your body.

From what I read in the AcneNoMore book, juicing is a great way to detoxify your body and skin. However, there are some things you need to do during the juicing, apart from the juicing. Number one, is in the morning, only take water soluble vitamins like B and C, primal defense and your EFAs. The book explains that even though your body won't be digesting food, it will still have to digest the pills. That's why post of the supplements he recommends aren't supposed to be taken during the juicing as it can counteract the benefits of juicing. Also, you must take epsom salt baths for 15 minutes each night and exercise. It's important to exercise during the juicing because juicing slows down your metabolism. In order to bring your metabolism back up, exercise is key, however don't run or lift weights, as it is to tough on your joints and body. Finally, the book suggests taking olive oil on an empty stomach during each day of the juicing. To be honest, I've totally been forgetting so I think I'll skip that part.

Now one part that was really intimidating for me was making a good juice. Luckily, there are tons of websites with fairly simple recipes. For breakfast, I started with an apple and pear juice. This was actually pretty good and the juicer was super simple to use. Then, because my house was super low on healthy foods, I had tomato juice for a snack which wasn't as bad as it sounds. Then again, I do love tomato. Next for lunch, I had an apple, cucumber, kale and grape juice. Usually, like in smoothies, the kale dominates but this juice was really good and I only tasted the apple and grape. Then, I didn't have time for a snack and skipped straight ahead to dinner where I had a carrot, celery, asian pear and cucumber juice. This wasn't the worst thing I've every tried but the celery was super strong and I detest the taste of celery.

Throughout the day I also drank tons of lemon water which I actually prefer over regular water now. I think my biggest concern about the juicing was feeling hungry. Surprisingly, I was hardly hungry at all. During the whole day I think the only times I were hungry were just before meals. The juicing is so far a lot easier than I thought and I'm looking forward to the results.

Lastly, in the night I did a redmond clay mask with lavender oil in it. This mask, though hard to get off, was great and it left my skin really refresh and a lot less inflamed. Then, I had an epsom salt bath for 15 minutes with 150g of epsom salts which was a lot better then the night before's. And no light headedness!

To all the people who are excited about juicing,
Good Luck :)
